Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba & SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. presents 'How fitness/exercise changed my life!' with Zoe Leslie on Thursday March 14th at 7pm at 4 Fort St.

Here's abit about Zoe...

Zoe Leslie has been discovering many new adventures, since her two main roles in life have changed! Those roles were being a single parent with 4 children at home for 15 years, and working as a pharmacist for over 30 years. She has the lived experience of Bipolar Disorder and is continually adding to and strengthening her mental health tool kit.

One of the tools in that tool kit is exercise, and it literally changed her life. Six years ago, she started going to the gym to improve her mood. The side effect was ending up with a super strong body as well! Confidence in herself also soared as she had fun in fitness activities, met new people, and was able to stabilize her mood.

In following her new passion for fitness, Zoe has taken Manitoba Fitness Council courses, volunteered in teaching fitness classes, and participated in leading seniors in the “Steppin’ Up with confidence” exercise program by the Active Living Coalition for Older Adults in Manitoba (ALCOA-MB).
She currently volunteers at the Reh-Fit Centre’s Physiotherapy Department Post-Op Knee Rehabilitation program. She enjoys helping with exercises and using her friendly sense of humour for the distraction of a good laugh or two while clients are going through the “no pain, no gain” aspect of the classes!
