Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba & SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. presents 'Babywearing & Mental Health' with Susanne Weber on Thursday July 18th at 7pm at 4 Fort St.
About the Session:
During this session Susanne will describe the many benefits of babywearing with a focus on how it can support the mental health of the parents and baby. Attendees will have the opportunity to see several different types of carriers demonstrated and also be able to try a carrier with a weighted doll. Susanne will also share personal stories about her parenting journey including some of the challenges presented by depression and miscarriages. Everyone is welcome at this session, expectant parents, new parents and anyone who provides support during the perinatal period.
Here's abit about Susanne Weber:
Susanne Weber is the owner of Carry Kiss Connect, a company offering babywearing and car seat education. She is the mother of two girls, ages 11 and 4. Even before the birth of her first child she knew babywearing could be a helpful tool but when it came to actually using a carrier she felt bewildered and defeated. She eventually found a carrier that really worked for her and discovered how empowering it could feel. Her passion is to help parents find these tools before baby is born so they can feel empowered during the major transition of welcoming a child into your family.
She is a certified Babywearing Educator through the Centre for Babywearing Studies and a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) through the CPSAC. Susanne attended the Bond Conference (on infant attachment) in 2016 and presented at the International Babywearing Conference in 2018.
Registration is not required and it is free to attend. Everyone is welcome at this session, expectant parents, new parents and anyone who provides support during the perinatal period.
