Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba & SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. presents 'Postpartum Depression' with Katie Slobodian on Thursday July 25th at 7pm at 4 Fort St.

Here's abit about Katie Slobodian..

Katie is 25 year old wife and mother of 2, and a mental health fighter and advocate. After a traumatic birth with her first son, Katie chose to change her story when she found out she was pregnant with her second son. She spoke with professionals and was diagnosed. Using the information she now had, and her pregnancy team, she turned her traumatic experience into a dream labour and delivery, and used that education and experience to recognize and understand the signs and symptoms of PPD and Anxiety and how to combat it.

whether you're becoming a mom for the first time or the fourth, the days and weeks after baby's birth can be as overwhelming as they are joyful and exciting.

Many women have feelings of sadness after childbirth, ranging from brief, mild baby blues to the longer-lasting, deeper depression known as postpartum depression.

Feelings of sadness and depression are more common after childbirth than many people realize. It's important for new mothers — and those who love them — to understand the symptoms of postpartum depression and to reach out to family, friends, and medical professionals.”

Registration is not required and it is free to attend. Open to parents, expectant parents and loved ones.
