Melanie Balanyk, Peer Support Worker, Parkland Region
Let me introduce myself! My name is Melanie Balanyk. I am part of the Parkland Region for MDAM. I’ve been married for over 17 years. We have one child and a miniature Yorkshire terrier, who rules our household. We lived in Western Canada for many years, but being that we are both from the Dauphin area, we moved back and made the Parkland region our permanent home. Personally, I enjoy many outdoor activities and consider our family to be very involved in our community. I consider myself to be very active. I have participated in the MS Society Bike Tour; Manitoba SnowShoe Run; Relay For Life; just to name a few. As a family we are very involved in volunteering and fundraising. On our downtime we enjoy camping, atv riding; ice fishing; and my personal favorite is riding our motorcycle. (And yes, I am working on achieving my license!)
I am very excited to be part of this amazing group of people. I come from a background of working in a high school setting. I believe my personal experiences may add knowledge and growth to my position at MDAM.
